When to use them
Use eyelets in borders, floral motifs, monograms and fine household textiles when you want an open, elegant texture. Choose the size according to the fabric.
Common mistakes
Cutting too early or making the opening too large makes an eyelet difficult to control. Do not pull the thread too tightly, as this can cause puckering.
Practical tips
Mark the centre, stitch the edge with small even stitches, then carefully open the centre. Keep the fabric in a hoop and use a fine sharp needle. Test first on the same fabric.
