A balanced five-colour palette ready for stitching.
DMC 311 Wedgwood Ultra Very Dark is a customer-facing embroidery colour. A physical skein remains the best reference.
Use it for details, shadows, lettering and subtle accents. It can work as the main colour, a transition between lighter and darker shades, or a small accent in a detailed pattern. Combine it with white, beige, grey and one clear accent colour and check the contrast on your fabric.
Do not choose the colour solely from a screen or digital swatch. Do not confuse it with a nearby DMC shade, and test the thread on the actual fabric before filling a large area.
Place the swatch and physical skein on the chosen fabric in daylight and artificial light. Make a small test using the same stitch and thread thickness as the pattern. Keep the label with your leftovers so you can find the same DMC colour again.
